60th Anniversary of James Bond: How to Dress Like 007

On October 5th 1962 the first 007 film Dr No premiered in London. The British Secret Service agent was created by English novelist Ian Fleming in 1953 and has since become an iconic character and a strong symbol in British culture.

Bond is known for his calm yet calculated demeanour and his immaculate style. We are huge fans of his wardrobe as he dresses as sharply as he shoots and is one of the most celebrated figures in men’s fashion.

Whilst we can’t all share his charisma; we can take inspiration from his looks. We’ve broken down some of Daniel Craig's best looks both on and off-screen to give you inspiration for your Autumn wardrobe.

No Bond outfit is complete without a Henley as a base layer. Traditional English tailoring comes to life with this piece and when paired with the cotton braces and dark trousers, this is both a practical and stylish look for when you’re on a mission.

We have a choice of colours in our Henley collection and recommend these dark trousers if you’re recreating this look...

At the Port-au-Prince docks in Quantum of Solace,007 sports his ‘everyday’ outfit with neutral chino trousers and a dark Harrington jacket.

If you’re dressing up for an indoor event, we recommend suede boots just as the suave Bond would, however if you’re on the run we suggest something more practical, like leather!

If you were ever unsure of whether the humble cardigan was a good look or not, surely James Bond can convince you...

A rugged gentleman both on and off the screen, Craig is often spotted in these luxurious knits. Styled with simple t-shirts and chinos or jeans this is a comfortable yet sophisticated look.

A flat cap and autumnal tones are a classic look in these cooler seasons and one we can’t get enough of.

We love that we can recreate this look with ease with our favourite Sunday Shirt, Thompson Baker Boy and classic canvas Ryder Jacket to protect from the elements.

Timeless, British and very Bond.

And finally, the coat that will last for generations. Immortalized by the British and U.S Navy throughout the 20th century the peacoat is a staple in any Winter wardrobe as Bond proves in both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

With a nod to his military background, James Bond is the epitome of cool in this coat and paired with leather gloves in the snow, it’s a practical look too.
