ORIGINS

The polo shirt has its roots in sport, originally worn on the courts by tennis players and adopted more widely through mid-century leisurewear. By the 1950s and 60s, it had moved beyond sport and into everyday wardrobes, worn by men who wanted something that felt relaxed but still carried a sense of structure.

Knitted versions came later, offering a softer, more refined alternative to traditional piqué polos. Favoured for their comfort and cleaner fit, they became a staple for warmer climates and off-duty dressing.
