The FLAK Gilet is the first of its kind in our SURPLUS collection and is proven to be the most practical solution to layering in the colder seasons. It’s a versatile and dependable piece with the Army Green colourway at home in any wardrobe. 

Our gilet follows a classic torso silhouette. The curved edges and dropped back were inspired by Steve McQueen and Paul Newman, who wore this style of garment on the cinema screen.  

In the ‘60s, the classic Military M-1965 Field Jacket had also been cleverly designed with a detachable quilted liner for the colder climates. Our gilet was designed with this in mind and pairs seamlessly with our FLAK Jacket, creating a warm and durable barrier between you and the elements. It also wears well with our SURPLUS Jacket making the whole collection interchangeable and easy to wear.  

The FLAK Gilet has been made from a tough, 200gsm ripstop fabric with 100gsm of wadding stitched into a quilted design.

Ripstop is typically used in making products for the outdoors or clothing made to be hard-wearing such as army uniforms. During weaving, thicker yarns are woven through the fabric in a grid pattern which re-enforces the fabric and makes it more resistant to tearing, making it the perfect material for a durable gilet.

Leather details have been added on the antique brass YKK zipper and on the hem to add character. We have also featured an inside chest pocket for valuables. This piece has been crafted with the outdoors in mind, super-soft yet hard-wearing, lightweight and warm – it's everything you need.
