This Desert boot is a mix of classic style and superior comfort and, when styled well, will see you through the season. We've taken inspiration from the iconic silhouette of a 'Chukka' boot with its pared-back details and thin rubber soles.
Our Desert Boots are inspired by the original design, with the upper constructed from a smooth and supple suede to allow breathability and style.
For a supportive and comfortable fit, the footbed is crafted from foam and leather which creates a lighter shoe. The cotton laces match the classic characteristics and our &SONS trademark details add a modern detail.

The original Desert Boot was created by Clarks Originals in 1949. The great-grandson of the company's founder left to help with the war effort and set off on his military expedition in Burma. It wasn’t long before he found inspiration from the sandy coloured boots his peers were wearing during their downtime and by 1949, he had designed his own boot with the same simple appearance and extreme comfort as those he had discovered. He first unveiled the shoe at the Chicago Shoe Fair the next year and the rest, as they say, is history.
The boot was practical, but when paired with oxford shirts, lambswool V-neck jumpers and loose workwear trousers, it became stylish too. In the 60s they were a mod favourite and in the 70s they were popular with rockers. Many famous faces wore them and back in the day the likes of Steve McQueen and The Beatles helped give the boot a relaxed, fashionable image.
